7 Extra Binse Button

MASTER CONTROLS

8 Reset Button

This button cancels all push-button selections and stops washer operation. Use this button if you desire to reject a soak, wash, or extra rinse selection.

9 Time Control

The time control regulates the time for soaking and washing.

The time control is also the on-off control. To start the washer, pull out on the time control knob; to stop the washer push in on the time control knob.
Page 4:

NOTE: The washer will only operate if a soak,

wash, or extra rinse button is depressed.

When soaking, the power soak cycle will provide up to 5 minutes agitation followed by a 1-minute pause and 3 minute spin.

When washing, the regular cycle will provide up to 9 minutes agitation followed by a 1-minute pause, 4-minute spin with a power spray (1 minute), fill period, 3-minute rinse, 1-minute pause, and a 6-minute spin dry period. The agitation or wash time will be

reduced to 5 minutes when a short cycle is selected.

The extra rinse cycle provides 3 minutes agitation followed by a 1-minute pause and 5-minute spin dry period.

To make a SOAK, WASH, or EXTRA RINSE selection, push in on the time control knob and turn it clockwise until the desired cycle appears in the top window. The time to complete the cycle is shown in the bottom window. The time control may be advanced at any time to shorten the SOAK, WASH, RINSE, or SPIN periods. Always push in on the time control knob before advancing through periods.

IMPORTANT: Never turn the time control counterclockwise.

NOTE: The washer is designed to stop for a minute between the SOAK and SPIN periods, WASH and SPIN periods, and RINSE and SPIN DRY periods. This is a normal condition to allow the motor to stop before going into the next period.

10 Water Saver Control

The water saver control regulates the amount of water used for the SOAK, WASH, and RINSE periods. Once the water saver control is set, the water level will be the same for each fill unless the control setting is changed.

To save water, set the water saver control as follows:

FULL LOAD over ½ tub of dry clothes

MED. LOAD. ¼ to ½ tub of dry clothes

SMALL LOAD up to ¼ tub of dry clothes

NOTE: If you should select a SMALL LOAD setting and would like to add more water to the tub after the washer has stopped filling and is agitating, just turn the water saver control clockwise until the washer stops agitating and starts filling again with water.
Page 5:

11 Motor Protector Reset Switch

The motor protector reset switch protects the washer motor by cutting off the electricity if the line voltage is temporarily too low or if there is an electrical failure.

If the electricity has been cut off in this manner, push in on the time control knob and wait 2 to 3 minutes. Press and release the motor protector reset button and pull out on the time control knob to resume operation.

12 Light Button

Press and release this button to light the floodlamp on the back-splash.

NOTE: Keep the button depressed for at least 3 seconds to ensure proper lighting.

TRIPLE DUTY FILTER-DISPENSER

The triple duty filter-dispenser dispenses detergent or soap in the soak and wash water, and fabric softener in the rinse water; it also removes lint from the wash and rinse water.

To add washing compound, first remove the black dispenser cup; then pour the required amount of washing compound in the dispenser opening as shown in the illustration.

If liquid fabric softener is desired, pour the required amount (up to i/2 cup) into the black cup and replace it in the filter-dispenser.

NOTE: If you wish to dispense a powdered water softener, such as Calgon, in the RINSE period, mix the desired amount in water and then pour the solution into the black cup. Only liquids can be dispensed from the cup.

IMPORTANT: If you desire to soak followed by an automatic wash, pour liquid detergent, such as Wisk, in the black dispenser cup. This will automatically be dispensed in the wash water.

POUR DRY DETERGENT OR SOAP HERE

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

IMPORTANT: Before washing for the first time, clean the tub by allowing the washer to proceed automatically through the WASH, RINSE, and SPIN periods. Use Wash Cycle Button No. 3 and washing compound.

How To Wash

1. Turn on the hot and cold water faucets.

2. Fill the tub loosely to the top for a full load of clothes. Do not wrap them around the agitator post.

3. Pour washing compound into the filter-dispenser, and fabric softener, if desired, into the black dispenser cup.

4. Push in on the Time Control Knob and turn it clockwise until "WASH" appears in the top window.

5. Set the water saver control.

NOTE: To insure proper dispenser operation,

always use enough water to cover half of the agitator post.

6. Push the Reset Button to cancel a previous selection.

7. Push the Wash Cycle Button of your choice. If you desire a second deep rinse, push the Extra Rinse Button.

8. Pull out on the Time Control Knob to start washer operation.

NOTE: If you desire to repeat your previous selection just push in on the Time Control Knob and reset it. Refer to the "Home Laundry Referennce Guide" for bleaching, starching, dyeing, etc., and for laundering special articles such as pillows, curtains, draperies, woolens, etc.

How To Soak, Automatically Followed by Wash

1. Turn on the hot and cold water faucets.

2. Fill the tub loosely to the top for a full load of clothes.

3. Pour washing compound into the filter-dispenser, and liquid detergent into the black dispenser cup.

4. Push in on the Time Control Knob and turn it clockwise until "SOAK" appears in the top window.

5. Set the water saver control.

6. Push the Reset Button to cancel a previous selection.

7. Push the Soak Cycle Button and Wash Cycle Button of your choice. If you desire a second deep rinse at the end of the Wash Cycle, push the Extra Rinse Button.

How To Soak Only

Follow the same procedure under "How to Soak, Automatically Followed By Wash" except do not use liquid detergent in the black dispenser cup and do not make any wash cycle or extra rinse selections. The washer will shut off automatically at the end of the "SOAK" cycle. To finish washing, follow steps 3, 4, 7, and 8 under "How to Wash."

Page 7:

WHEN YOUR WASHDAY IS OVER-DO THIS

1. Turn the water faucets off and leave the lid open to allow the washer to air and dry out.

2. Clean the triple duty filter-dispenser periodically. To remove the dispenser unit for cleaning, pull it up and out of the agitator post. Remove the black cup and the lint collector from the dispenser. The lint collector is removed by giving it a half turn counterclockwise and pulling it out of the dispenser. Remove the cup lid from the cup; then clean the cup and lid, lint collector, and dispenser by rinsing them under hot water. The cup and lint collector should be cleaned after each wash load.

Moving Washer To A New Location

Before the washer is moved, the motor and tub assemblies should be secured to prevent in-transit damage.

Periodic Check Of Your Washer

You can help keep your washer at maximum operating efficiency by arranging, through your dealer, for a periodic lubrication and mechanical inspection. This check should be made after the first two years of use and yearly thereafter.
