The dishwasher in the earlier Sears catalogs was marketed under the name Homart as a top-loading machine. The Maytag Dependability Story
This is another wonderful and rare piece of history. It was produced to explain the many proceeses involved in producing an automatic washer, dryer and combination washer-dryer utilized at Maytag's Newton, IA factory. This large format book (8.5 x 9) is filled with 20 rare full size photos of the major processes in the factory along with full descriptions of what you are seeing, such as: Maytag wash baskets must be properly balanced so they will spin smoothly during the water extraction phase of the cycle. The balancer, shown in this photograph, will indicate on a dial just where the additional weights must be added to the balancing ring to provide the specified smooth spin. No guess work here; every Maytag tub is scientifically balanced. MAYTAG DEPENDABILITY means accuracy and precision in every step of the manufacturing process. |
