Philco 1962 Wonder-Wash-Agitator Automatic Washer Brochures
Philco introduced their wobbling rubber disk agitator in 1959 on their full size automatic washers. In 1961 the machine was redesigned with a slightly larger and now perforated wash tub but still using the 1959 agitator design. These amazing brochures highlight these first perforated tub machines. Consumer Bulletin magazine was a product rating company that was started in 1928. This issue contains full descriptions/story, ratings and charts for 1958 Automatic Dishwashers. Brands rated include: American Kitchens, Frigidaire, General Electric, Hotpoint, James, Kelvinator, KitchenAid, RCA Whirlpool, Westinghouse and Youngstown. The brands are segregated between Recommended and Intermediate. Before you read the article see if you can guess which brands will be put in which category. To my surprise I got it completely wrong!
